Flashback: January 2006, "Better, not Bitter"
I decided to start digging around in my archives, as I'm too busy for a new post. Here is a post titled "Better, not Bitter", which touched on a frequent annoyance of mine. If I were marketing myself, no one would buy; I have a habit of downplaying my good habits and experiences. Read the entry from January 2006 here.

I think I would take home from your 2006 post - "It's all in the wording." Take a boring day and make it sound intriguing... that's what a good writer should be able to do!
Seriously, how do you make the links like that?
I enjoy your posts the way they are already written, but maybe that is because they are not so much stories as contemplations. I love that stuff.
When telling stories, it's about adding details -- the things that make YOUR dinner so different from anyone else's; describing with word-pictures the idiosyncrasies of your friends; letting us experience a ride on the bus, with you. What you smell, hear and feel.
I suck at all of these things, too. I'm working on it.
Thanks for the reminder. : )
@yourkbear - Look on the right-hand side of your editor when you're writing an entry--there's a globe with what looks like two circles on it. Click that. It brings up a box; paste in your web-link or type it in there. You may have to have some text selected for it to work right. BTW, it's easiest to copy-paste using CTRL + C (to copy, hold both keys down while highlighting link) and paste using CTRL + V (to paste).
@GreekPhysique - I know how to copy and paste. lol
I bet if you marketed yourself on Xanga we'd have a lot of buyers. Hey that's a great idea! Let's have a Xanga bachelors auction! We can sell off an internet movie date complete with coinciding web cam.... with our most popular single guys donate the money to charity...
Thanks! Even if you don't post it- it's always good to have a list.
@echois23 - You flatter me...and I thank you for it.
But I don't want to be embarrassed when only a dollar is bid, ha.
@GreekPhysique - I think you underestimate youself.... the combination of kindness and wisdom is nice is a man...
thanks for the comment.
it seems like you might also have a bit less confidence than many people seem to. i think that's my problem too. i may not be "ugly", but i'm not confident that i'm attractive. oh well, i'm working on that.

You are hilarious. Really did brighten my hour. (To say my entire day would be an exaggeration.)
Dear Greek,
Great idea for a "contest". Fantastic if the money you're awarding for prizes is yours. Too bad I'm an old man. I could be a teenager again rather easily. Really.
I read the 2006 entry. I should do my wayback posts like this, with a link to the entry instead of just reposting the entry, but then I'd be afraid nobody would read it.
I'm sure you've learned how to tell a tale much better than what you described a couple of years ago. Well, I'm off to go to work "with the ladies."

@baldmike2004 - HAHA! You got it, with the ladies indeed. Yes, it's my money--I figured I wanted to do something charitable, and this was a great way to do it.
