  • Other clarifications for contest

    1. Please, as much as possible, keep your entries PG-13. You can still talk about very serious issues like rape and abuse, if that is a life lesson for you. But it kind of defeats the purpose if the essay is so graphic that other teens can't read it if you win! ha. If you're not sure, ask me and I'll tell you.

    2. With your permission, I'd like to post the top 5 winners essays on my site. If this isn't ok, you can still enter; if you finish in the top 5, I'll just not post your entry and post the 6th place winner's essay instead.

    3. Do not, NOT critique other people's entries, attack fellow competitors, etc. You will be disqualified immediately if I think you are tearing down someone else's entry.

    4. Again, have as much imagination as you like in putting together these entries. I shall do a couple for you for fun later on--I'll do a video and audio entry just to show you what can be done.

    5. I'm a little behind on my messages, so I'll get to each person's entry on those a little later. If you don't hear from me within about 4 days, message me again to make sure I got it.

  • I understand you're accepting writing of various different methods; however, would a fiction pieces also be applicable? Or just essays?

  • you are so thoughtful doing this contest, really, you are pushing the teens on here to try to work on something we otherwise would have never even thought to do on our own. and to fork out money from your own pocket to do so? I can only give you mad respect sir. thanks.

    essay instead." are you saying that if you were in the top 5; you're being pushed back to 6th place, or are you just replacing the person that doesn't want their entry to be published with the 6th place winner's? I'm sorry, I'm confused. :(
