Does a Blog Ever Create Real Change?
I have to say, for once, yes, two bloggers did help me make a change. Their descriptions of books were so exciting that I finally broke down and purchased the books.
This book was recommended by Jamie. Although I do not work as an artist, I'm surprised in some ways by how much I do work like an artist. Creativity and blocks happen to me a lot. So I bought it. I want to unlock the hidden half of creativity (thus the photo, left-brain vs right-brain, etc...).
Kelly kept praising this book as a way to deal with relocation. I moved twice in about one year in 2008, and I'm still trying to find my roots and get situated. It's such a dreadful trade-off--my job is great, but I hate my life outside my job way too often. (It has gotten much better in last few months, though!). I wish I had bought this book earlier as a way to help me cope. I am covering the author's name because I feel like I need to write this book, if that makes any sense; to think about this topic.
So what have you done in response to a Xanga post?

hmmm... i honestly couldn't trace any experience of any sort... i think there are posts that made me think about certain issues etc, but not yet to the point of making me buy something or change something, just yet..
The second one sounds like something I should read. Getting ready for the Navy to tell me where to go next!
I am thinking maybe I should take a look at those books too... And, yes, I have done things in response to a post. For example, I read about someone doing a reading challenge (reading x amount of books in a year) and I decided to try it the next year. Now I know two other people who were thinking of doing it this year as well
Nothing recently. But i have found favorite movies and such in the past from them.
Blogs by designers improve my design when they post helpful tips or simply inspire me to be more creative. Good luck planting your roots!
I can't think of anything but now I'm going to buy The War of Art. So thanks!
Several blogs -- well, bloggers -- have changed me. A lot. Not just little things, but Big, Fundamental things. How I See The World things.
Some posts make me think about topics I've never really considered. Others make me appreciate the things I'm blessed with. A few will make me to pause and say a prayer for that person for help and guidance through their struggles.
P.S. I think I have the girl-version of your glasses. Gold star!
