  • The people that matter like you for who you are. The people who need you at work or otherwise probably like you more for what you do, but I'm sure there are exceptions.

  • what I do, definitely!

  • Who I am, since I have a chronic illness and can't do much  If they don't like me for who I am, there's nothin' for them to like.

  • I think my friends like me for who I am ;)

  • People don't get to know who I am...and what I do isn't really displayed often....so people don't like me? :p

  • bluntly; what you do. they only care for what i am as far as they can empathize.

  • what you do.

but i have met those who seem to love unconditionally.
    YAY

  • That's a question I have to digest.

  • I don't really think I do anything significant, so people have to like me for who I am. :)

  • Isn't who I am defined by what I do?

  • interesting question. probably for who I am. people who talk to me don't always hear a lot of what I do right off the bat. This is unless, of course, they ask the popular "so what's your major?" and "what do you want to do after you graduate?" questions. If they keep on talking to me not really knowing what all I do it must be because they like who I am! I hope...

  • @TheMushyPear - you are a pear and you are delicious. being a pear makes you delicious! I can see your point.

  • @Pickwick12 -

(( hugs)) dearie. I love you for who you are but also respect and admire all you do to encourage others and glorify Jesus through word and deed.

  • This is a tough question bc either way we find that we all do not truly love each other unconditionally, nor do we love God unconditionally either. Ive found this to be true in my darkest moments when no matter what I did, God was silent. I hopefully learned to love Him more unconditionally during those times, especially when there was no insight or hint of His presence.

Do I like you for what you do or who you are?
I think I like you for what you do as a man of integrity but also for who I think I know you to be in Christ, recognizing your weaknesses at the same time. The same goes true for why I like myself. I like myself for the gifts Christ has given me, as well as the work He has given my hands, words He helps me utter, etc.

  • @caroliiineee -

I'm sure what you do is significant. :)

  • I just assume they like me for my peach cobbler.

  • i really don't think many people like me. soooooooo lol. but i think for the ones who do like me its because of who i am....i hope.

  • I think a lot of people are afraid to admit that a lot of what they like about others is what they do.. come on! We're selfish, fallen people. I think a lot of relationships are at least going to start like that. Deep down, we all want to be accepted and loved. I hope that first impressions might make people like me for what I may do, but if there's a closer relationship, it turns into a greater appreciation and understanding of who I am.
