  • Lurker Amnesty Day

It's a blogger tradition to hold one day a year where my readers who feel shy about commenting can comment without fear and admit to their lurking, ha. So if you are one of my quiet or infrequent readers, who doesn't comment as often if at all, so state!

I should say, this does matter to me. I am realizing that Xanga's users are declining daily; go look at a blogring and you'll see how few users have recently posted. Thus I am contemplating moving to another blog domain (blogger.com, typepad.com, etc.) or making some changes. I had originally thought that by June 2007, I would have ceased posting, but I found some more things to say, ha, so you're not rid of me yet!

Oh, and if you're a regular commenter, tell me about your holidays, or something rather personal about yourself. I promise that my Web Intimacy posts will be a fair trade. They're not ready yet, but I'm excited about them.

  • I'm sending you a xanga message with my personal revelation, rather than leaving it here for the world to see.  Hope you don't mind.

  • *giggles* you said "lurk". *giggles some more.*

  • ahhh, so that is how to get stalkers to come to the light eh?

    blessings ~

  • All right smart guy you asked for it --

ryc the article perfectly articulated what's wrong with the "i'm going to fight for my god given right to be a jerk" attitude. and also the "i'm a christian so i vote for W despite the fact that he's a sleazy lying manipulating CRIMINAL who never admits to doing anything wrong EVER" attitude.

so, sorry you asked yet?! that's it, now you get a stupid freakin' mini too.

  • I appreciate your comment. I assure you that I am not expecting to be angry the entire time I read the Bible or the Qur'an. I fully expect to enjoy it, for the most part. Time will tell.

  • despite the fact that my hubby appears at this moment to be mentally unbalanced, we did have a wonderful and restful holiday for the most part.

  • I've noticed the Xanga decline as well. We need to get readership up somehow. I like Xanga too much.

  • I wonder if it's a loss to blogger and other blog sites or if it's a loss to facebook/myspace where you don't have to blog and people still stop by your site.

  • RYC to FreakyJesusMusic: Ha! I knew I could get a fiery comment out of you one of these days! That's made my day. See, I know the American Christian traditionalists are in a rut--and Relevant magazine does a fine job of exposing that. But Relevant magazine itself has fallen into a rut with its stereotypes of traditional American Christianity; I think some Christians can become depressed and demoralized (or self-righteous) from reading Relevant, rather than educated, exhorted, or uplifted.

And don't you dare start a Mini War, ha. I have credits, and I know how to use them! :-p

For the rest of you--Drew is a wonderful man who I decided to pick on, ha.

  • Guilty. Although "lurk" makes me feel so dirty.

  • Hey, at least we got someone else to joing the Commander Keen blogring.  I think you and I are the only people who've updated their Xangas in the past year, in that ring.  :P

  • RYC: that's how we feel about Hils too.

i thought that was what you were getting at about relevant. i don't particularly like the magazine either. i think it all too often follows the compulsion to be edgy for edginess's sake without really significantly challenging doctrine. it's very praxis oriented.. but that's my complaint against the whole emergent movement type thingie.

  • 5 blame facebook and Britney Spears for the decline of xanga

  • 5 was meant to be I. Don't ask me how it became 5, I have no idea. But I am in bed sick right now so thats my excuse.

  • *delurks momentarily*

  • howdy howdy howdy...

  • I always enjoy your posts. About the decline in readership---do you think the blog bubble has popped kind of like the mortgage market? Maybe the blogosphere has lost its novelty for a lot of people. I know that I have pretty well settled into a handful of blogs that I read fairly regularly, and I don't really go on the hunt for new stuff anymore when those blogs cease publication. Anyway...wow, that's a record-length comment for me.

  • I don't lurk, I comment for the most part, but something compels me to post here. So hello

  • I feel like I'm stalking you lol. If you get sick of comments from me on old posts tell me ... bear in mind you gave me permission :P

  • @PrettyKitten@datingish - No, no, it's fine comment away if you wish. Doesn't hurt me any, as long as you are enjoying yourself!
