Congrats to Amy
I have to pause my usual self-centered blather to congratulate a Xanga friend on her engagement.
Amy has recently had the good taste to get engaged to a man named John. (As everyone knows, the name John instantly signifies manly traits, overwhelming achievement, and, um, humility.) I tried to think about what to say about Amy, because we don't really know each other that well. I had to say something, though, because it is rare that I get to wholeheartedly praise someone, without reservations. Amy is deserving of that.
Amy is the nicest, warmest, sweetest person I have met on Xanga. Her job involves taking care of old people, and it's a job that can wear people down and make them unhappy. Instead, Amy takes this job as an opportunity to serve those people. I have always been impressed by her joy, her gentleness of spirit, and her skills in photography. I'm excited for her, even though this means she may have less time to update her Xanga (ok, that part makes me a little sad). But it's people like Amy who keep me on Xanga and convinces me that there are plenty of good people left in the world, even though they may be scarce in my immediate vicinity.
Ok, I'll stop before I embarrass her any further, ha. Please go leave congratulations on her post about the engagement!

What a nice post...I agree with you about xanga giving me hope that there really are good people left in the world! Nice xangans have been a real encouragement to me.
awww, Thank you John! How very sweet of you, it must be something in the name
I am very honored. Thank you very much!
@and_a_little_red_flower - You are more than welcome. You know, I of course tried to be a little light with my praise in the past, because I did not want to embarrass you or lead you on. But now that you are getting engaged, I can paradoxically be more effusive in my praise of you, ha, because I really have been impressed at how you have lived out your Christian testimony. Best of luck with John
and I'm looking forward to seeing some excellent wedding pictures.
