  • Those answered prayers are AWESOME!! I ask for silly stuff like that all the time. It may seem small to us, but even our most desperate cries for help are small to God.

  • Alright, I left all the tabs open, so I could go back and refresh my memory of what I wanted to say.
[As an afterthought, I should mention that this is a mass comment to all of the entries. Enjoy! ^_^]
First: The entry for February 2005 about mistakes that men and women make (which I desperately wanted to read ::tear::) is not there. I will attempt to hunt it down, once I am done reading the manual for Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.
I know what you mean about the prayers. Those little things are what help remind me to not be too needy of God all the time, for something big. (That sentence was probably horrible, but I'm not going to read it over or else I'll spend five minutes on it.)
I was contemplating never having any more male friends beyond the two I care about the most, but your first argument gave me food for thought. Men do satisfy emotional and psychological needs, even if they are not your boyfriend. I know I can be a pain in the butt to mine, but sitting down and playing Call of Duty 4 with my best guy friend is sometimes what I need more than talking to my friends (girls).
"Let's not talk about the singles who come to eHarmony, use our process, and experience the absolute joy of being stalked by a desparate 50+ single man in Montana." I could NOT stop laughing at that.
I cannot find the words adequate enough to say thank you for this entry. (What sports are NOT about.) Some people think it's blasphemy when I tell them that I in fact, do not watch their favorite sport (football) and go on to explain how amazing it is, never mentioning that it is just FUN.
Even though I got into playing volleyball a few years back, you completely out do me. Though I have to say I stopped because of the "professional bums" who put me to pitiable shame.
Your perspective on "doing the math" is something different. (I wonder if that Bill Gates scenario actually happened...) I hope you don't become like that either. So dull. ^_^
Your advice for grad school is duly noted. I never thought about NOT going but #'s 5 & 6 gave me things to think about.
I thought every Christian overlooked the selfish-Christian attitude so I am ecstatic you posted something about it, even if it was some time back. The point in my life when my faith was at its worst, I used their selfishness as an argument against Christianity but now I see I was being selfish as well.
You are entirely right about guys and beards. It was very humorous and then after I was done, I thought of my boyfriend. I'm now hoping it doesn't go on as long as yours did. ^_~

  • @ScOtTsKaTz - Wow, I am impressed that someone read so many of the entries . I fixed the February link, so you can read it now if you want.

  • I generally agree with the "males and females shouldn't be friends" thing... however I do have many close friends that are male. Come to think of it, it's much easier when each person is in a relationship. Because then you're like, friends with a couple.

  • Dear John,

Thank you for your recent subscription to my blog. I offer a mix of my own poetry, prose, "reminiscences", "MikeVideos", photography, and artwork. I create all my own graphics, and post about once every three days. I don't believe you left a comment, and I usually don't respond to subscribers unless I receive a comment, because so many folks subscribe, and never come back, and one only has so much time in a day for blogpursuits. But I clicked your profile and was somewhat interested in your entries, so I stayed a while and read a few of them. (Duct tape from heaven, that's priceless)

I think I've visited here before. If you've ever left me a comment, or have particpated in one of the particpatory blogrings I do, then I visited because of that. If you had a featured post I enjoyed, then I might have commented here before. You aren't one of my "regulars" so I have no idea. But it's always nice to get a subscriber, and at least I want to thank you for this.

I don't like to leave a site without leaving a comment, and I can't make the time right now to write you a comprehensive and in depth response to some of what I've read, because I'm at work.

However, I did enjoy reading your posts about comments, one of my favorite "metablogging subjects" on which I've dedicated a few posts. (Normally, I insert the links to said posts, but upon reading some of your "recommendations" I will forego that here in this comment. ) I noticed you seem to get LOTS of comments, so you must be an expert on the subject. I'm not so lucky. I've been attempting to make my blog a "destination blog" for quite some time, but I guess not too many people are interested in an old bald guy and his musings. (Except my regular readers of course)

Well, I have to go. I've had a nice visit. Thanks again for subscribing. Maybe you'll even leave me a comment someday!

  • I like looking at old posts to see how much I changed as a person and how much my writing style changed.

  • @GreekPhysique -

Yeah, I read them all. (Individually commented on the February entry, but of course you know that, I keep forgetting how hi-tech Xanga is getting. ::feels silly::)
Your writing is good and get this: actually enjoyable.
I was offered to watch Meet the Spartans with my boyfriend and his friends, but I turned them down rudely as my eyes were glued to the screen feeding off of your words as if you were the sun and I was Birdman.
    ....
Ignore the silliness, I am little random when I just wake up. (The real reason I turned them down was because having 5 people in a room all at once for long periods of time sometimes scares me.)

I just did what your entry said. In retrospect, I do that a lot. Another reason I like reading your blog: easy truths.

  • I love your old posts!

  • RYC:  There are no good ideas,  my friend.  Just good commenters.  Ha,  inside jokes galore! Haha.

I suggest you block TheCacerWard.  That's BIGBOYDOOMDADDY's new site.  He's leaving comments on everyone's site that read:  "I hope you get cancer."

  • This is exactly why people are switching to Chemistry.com.

  • this is fun! nice job! thanks for subscribing also!

  • Thanks very much for the rec!

    Ha,  former shortstops unite! Haha.
