When did the Last Dragon Die?
This video is a little dull, but I want to start doing video posts to work on my presentation skills. I have decided to adjust what I write about. You'll read much less on things I don't know much about (love, women, and relationships) and much more about things I do (men, general knowledge, competitive games). We'll see if I can hold to this, but I think the change makes sense.
Anyway, here's why the title and the video. The fairy tales say that the prince would often have to kill the dragon or go on many other adventures. Sometimes he'd get a princess as a reward, sometimes not. My question is, though, where are our "dragons" today? What are good adventures for men? It seems like the princess herself is now the adventure...or the dragon that must be defeated...or the man is the dragon? The symbolism has completely fallen apart. Maybe that's a good thing, but I think the lack of challenges and adventures for men accounts for the popularity of video games and is depressing.
My apologies for the extra "uhs" and the unscripted nature of the video and how long it is and that I was even born...err, wait, just watch the video before I get any more self-conscious.
Oh, and my Internet connection was fixed! XangaTV will return sometime this month.

Very good, sir!
w00t! More ranting to come! I'll check out the video when I get home.
Well, seeing as how Sean Connery is retired, I don't think we'll see any more dragons.
"I AM the lasht one!"
So this is your first "vlog." One of my friends told me I should try "vlogging" but I didn't really know how I would go about it. It's tough when you talk abouit some of the nonsense I talk about. Good first one though.
Oh we forgive you for being born.
pretty neat!
I think man seems to feel that he's accomplished everything there is to accomplish, and that woman still feels opressed. It's a great accomplishment for a woman to do something that is considered a "man's job." I think that's just dumb. I mean, I don't want to see women playing professional football (who want's to see a bunch of 300 pound women lined up and bent over!), but men and women, blacks and whites, giants and midgets, we're all human beings! And as such we should all push our skills, whatever they may be, to their limits in the interest of success.
Well, I was going to comment, but Xanga ate the whole thing. I give up.
mmmm, i thought about doing something like this, too. but i enjoy writing, so maybe not.
we'll see.
when will you be in Columbus?
Maybe the new dragon is the shell women put up around themselves to protect their inner princess from the harshness of the world?
@echois23 - Sigh, I'm afraid so, and that's profound. Sometimes I see it in the eyes of professional women--a sort of sadness, a looking for somewhere they can break and be themselves, but knowing that they can't... The monster sometimes is the woman's baggage, the walls she's had to build to protect herself from the world; and the man and she must slowly and carefully tear down those walls.
