  • I'm weird

What is it about heading down a highway at 1AM in the morning and being the only car that filled my heart with joy today? haha. Thanks if you were praying for me, I somehow had a fantastic time tonight. Just me, some appropriately depressing techno, and the window rolled down. Too bad you couldn't come along! What odd experiences fill you with sudden joy?

  • walking in the pouring rain! :)

  • Having adorable little kids smile at me :)

  • & finding change on my pants pockets...lol

  • I would love to do that....driving at night and then parking in a parking lot or something and staring out at the stars with no one around would fill my heart with joy also.

  • Having a wiggly hyper puppy lick my hand = sudden joyous laughter

  • I'm so happy to hear that you made it safely and that you found joy in it. I'm pretty weird too, I tend to find joy in just about anything, anytime. I think if you are at peace with God you carry joy with you in your heart and because joy is a part of you it becomes easier to find it all around you too. Finding a really sweet, funny message on my voice mail at 2:45AM after taking care of a sick child all night gave me joy this morning.

  • haha that sounds so fun xD
anything random makes me happy lol

  • I'm weird too. I love the feeling of driving alone on the freeway after midnight with great music. Sometimes I wish I could share it, but then I wouldn't be alone and my passenger probably wouldn't enjoy as much as me. Also, I get a big thrill being outside in thunderstorms with lightning crashing all around. Seeing dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs, eagles and other raptors, wildlife of any kind makes me giddy.

  • On the plane to Japan listening to Techno.
I can't even appropriately portray what a bizarrely spiritual moment it was.

  • I had a weird experience of joy the day after I felt terribly rejected by somebody. Sort of like when you exercise and you get really tired but then the endorphins kick in. I just felt joy in know that I belong to God, that I have value to Him, and that He is in control.

  • Enjoying the light of the moon. I'm not bloody kidding; there's a cliche for you. What techno was it, specifically? That's my realm of music.

  • You're crazy! lol When I am alone in the car in the middle of the night, my windows are up and my doors are locked!! I get so creeped out on empty highways, etc when it's dark out.

  • I won't dispute your strangeness, but who doesn't love the open road and fresh air?

One of life's greatest pleasures is swimming in a lake in the mountains, a pleasure that I partake in as often as I can - floating ice in the lake or not!

  • Aw, I love all the above mentioned things and definitely driving alone, anywhere, anytime. I love being outside early in the morning, just after the sun has risen, when the birds are singing. It's even better if I'm beside a lake or stream and there is some mist coming off the water. Hmm, warm fuzzy feelings.

  • There is a long, slightly downhill curve on the road I take to work every morning. If there is no one around it feels like I'm flying, even at just 50 miles an hour. It makes me rejoice somehow. Maybe you aren't as weird as we all thought

  • leading worship. I feel like someone attached a lightbulb to my heart and it's bright and alive.

  • driving alone on a highway with the window down is like my favorite thing ever!

sorry i missed the xanga tv! i kinda fell off the earth this weekend.  or this whole month, lol.

  • @squiddichino - Ha, true, but this was more like the humid air and a tired, frazzled drive back alone. Usually it puts me in a bad mood, but I was in a good mood that day. You do have a good point, though! And your adventuring is so cool--I'm always impressed to see your climbing photos. I need to do more camping, come to think of it, only went once this summer.

  • @scruffylizard - Oh, this is so embarrassing, but it was a CD I bought at Armani Exchange so I could get my total bill high enough to qualify for a discount. I'm not a frat boy, ha, I just felt like getting some better clothes for once. So I don't know type.

  • Any time I see a horse, I get that feeling of sudden joy.

  • Waking up in a panic only to realize you aren't supposed to be at work till 4pm.
Stressful at first...but so relaxing after that. ha ha ha

  • Driving at night with the music blasting (though not a good idea with CHP anywhere near).  I also love being home alone, making food and eating in the den on the floor with a Disney movie or romantic comedy to keep me company. What can I say? Hopeless romantic.

  • inthe  fort lauderdale, fl airport yesterday i overheard little children requesting toilet paper in the restroom... in spanish. i love little children and i love spanish. it was a joyous moment.

  • the experiences i am not looking for. those make me the happiest. they aren't ruined by expectation.
it is good to let joy sneak up on you. you are not weird. unless i am weird too. heaven forbid.

  • Don't know how I didn't see this earlier but ... late night driving, being the only one on the road, music blaring, windows down - is definitely a joyful experience.

  • Can I list more than one?

    1. The junction of I-80 and I-76, particularly in May or June.

    2. A cloudy day when the apartment is clean and I have nothing to do and nowhere to go.
