New Blog to Follow: Caffeinated Cupcake
My Xanga friend Torri started a new site at http://www.caffeinatedcupcake.com/ . Because she's a good friend (and has compromising video footage of me), I decided to interview her and hype her site.

Torri, tell us a little bit about the new site.Well as some of you guys may (or may not) know i can usually be found over at torri.xanga.com. Every now and then i’ll have a serious blog up there (like my sole featured post Someone is Failing Us) but mainly i use it to post the randomness that is me. Like what i found on etsy that i like or the music im listening to at 2am. I wanted to create a blog that, while still reflecting my eclectic nature, would consist of blogs with a little more substance that would make people think and/or take action.
As for the name, it took me a couple of days (mainly during classes when i didnt feel like paying attention) to come up with that one. I eventually came up with CaffeinatedCupcake because a) i love coffee and work at a coffee shop part time and b) i make kick ass cupcakes.
See one of Torri's vlogs here, for the $1.25 Global Challenge:
The question everyone is dying to ask; is there free food if I visit? If you have found a way for me to transfer a cupcake over the internet and have it pop out on your end i will gladly bake you cupcakes. If not then your gonna have to settle for an xanga food related mini. Or come to the next DC Xanga meet-up to try one of my infamous Xanga Cupcakes.
What have been some of your previous experiences on Xanga? I’ve been at my current blog since i started on xanga though i had a different name before i switched over to Torri. I moving in a vastly different direction in life and needed a name change. I wont go into details here and if you really want to know all my old posts are still up for the world to see. I’m not ashamed of my past, it happened, can’t change it, and its made me who i am.
I also used to be really big into the BrainFriedNetwork when it first came around. The only reason I'm not anymore is 17 credits and two part time jobs takes up a lot of my time. But i can proudly say that i was in the first ever multi-cast (there were three of us) of the BFN.
Who is the audience for your site? What type of people might enjoy it the most?
You know what, i never really went about thinking about who my target audience was going to be. To be honest i dont really blog/vlog for a certain segment of the population. I blog about what im interested in and if others are interested in it to then awesome. But to be fair to the question, i guess my target audience is xangans (and others on the net... i did fork over my hard earned starbucks tip money for a domain name) who want to be informed and/or learn something. Now just because you find one of my posts/series informative doesnt mean the others will be informative to you. I’m a little bit all over the map in my interests and topics so my posts will be a reflection of that....(A future series i'll do is replacing certain everyday products i use with those found at the dollar store... kind of an extension of my current series).
I am excited by your idea to use vlogs as part of your posts. How hard has that been to do? How is it better or worse than writing?"I don’t find vlogging hard at all. I’ve actually been on youtube since 2006 and between then and 2008 (when i did most of my videos) over 1,000 people somehow found me amusing (or wanted to make fun of me) and subscribed to me. Yes you can edit videos like posts before you upload them but i find just going straight for it and not editing them makes them more real and believable. You see me for me and get my honest/unedited opinion. (Plus if you dont have time to read you can just play the video in the background while you're surfing the rest of xanga).
Writing, when done the right way can really tug at a person. But that often requires a lot of time thinking and editing, something i dont really have the luxury of doing all the time with my schedule. (But hope to fit in every once and a while)."
Anything else I missed?"Hmmm, not that i can think of off the top of my head. I do want to take the time to say that you have always been one of my favorite xangans to read and i’ve always enjoyed watching your XangaTv sessions... but also know that if you change the content of my interview to make me look like one of those psycho’s from “Real Housewives” i do have XangaTv footage of you saved to my other laptop i can always bring up = )"
Oh no, not that again! I hope this interview keeps me safe for now. But seriously, go check out Torri's site. She shelled out the big bucks for a domain name, so I wanted to help her publicize it.

i wouldnt say i shelled out big bucks for the domain but thanks for the giant shout out... (oh ya... and here is your cupcake...lol)
w00p. Gonna have to check out this site!
@CaffeinatedCupcake - I did the same thing as you (as far as the domain name goes), so I totally understand the push to make a name for yourself and be successful in that endeavor. If you'd like, I can put a link up on my site (lizheartshakespeare.com) to your site. Just let me know =)
compromising video footage, you say? I'm intrigued...
AWESOME!!! We Miss Torri.... *sniff*
Yeah she has a cool site.
Now I want a cupcake really bad.
@edlives - I know! I forgot how much I enjoyed Torri's vlogs; there are few people I will watch on vlogs for more than about a minute, but Torri is one of them
@GreekPhysique - happy to help drive some traffic to her new site...
I wish I had more time on my hands so I can make some videos too, especially for cooking. I really dig the xanga cupcakes!!!
@NowAndForever512 - hmmm maybe i should make a video eventually on how to make the xanga cupcakes...
that is so cool- the $1.25/day for food/week thing. I'm such a vegetable lover so don't know if I could do it. She did good though, even nutrtionally w/ the cheese and peanutbutter (protein), gots the bread, pasta, and prestels for carbs, but aw man, no veggies, fruit though (although limited). She did such an excellent job though (wasn't probably even concidering making it nutritionally balanced, and still even did that somewhat). Thumbs up!:)
@CaffeinatedCupcake - You should!!!!!!!!!!
@CaffeinatedCupcake - I think all that money you save from not buying Starbuck could well pay for the domain name. =)
Good post, John. =)
I got to have some of those cupcakes. They were a-mazing!
