  • Online Dating Profiles 101

Recently a Twitter friend expressed frustration at her lack of dates and jokingly asked if any of us guys were willing to put together an online dating profile for her. She's an old blog acquaintance so I put one together for her. I enjoyed myself trying to design a profile that would be eye-catching but represent well what her skills were as a woman.

So then, here's a silly offer. I will design an online dating profile for the first five women who want one. If I don't know you that well, I'll need more details/talk to you more. I won't do this for anyone under 18 or taken...it just doesn't seem right and all. Who is in? And while you're at it, tell ME what I should stress if I were writing a dating profile. What qualities of mine stand out?

  • You should mention your epic eye-lazor-beam skills.

  • Oh, oh... can I get one ?

  • Haha. This sounds fun. Would you be willing to make one for a bisexual married woman that is interested in a threesome?

  • That sounds like a joke-post an ex of mine would write, and if I'm not mistaken you know her. Wouldn't that be ironic, and hilarious.

Interesting proposition. I'd love to see what some of the results are. Online dating seems to be the wave of the future, and the few profiles I've read all seem to basically say the same thing...i.e. I want a rich/groomed/respectful man, my son/daughter comes first in my life, I love my family and take me somewhere other than dinner and a movie, somewhere we can talk and get to know each other.

  • @AgainstTheWind1 - Yeah, profiles I've seen seem so much like custom-tailored mannequins at best. Nothing beats the real deal.

  • @QuantumStorm - Is there a dojo for that?
Actually, I want Wolverine's claws and the ability to fly.

  • inquisitive but accepting.

  • I tried writing an online dating profile once... it was HARD. There's an unspoken balance of what you have to say, what you should say and what you definitely should NOT say. So kudos to you! @Rhindon - this is perhaps one of the best comments I've seen in a while :)

  • @MochaSprinkle - LOL Really now? *grins* Why is that?
*ponders adding telekinesis, invisibility, and/or mind reading to the mix*

  • Hahahha that's awesome. A dating profile written by a guy, sure to be a hit amongst other guys.

  • I suppose technically having a boyfriend qualifies me as "taken" doesn't it?  Rats.

  • I have never had the nerve to actually try online dating, though a fair few people I know have. I'm curious as to what someone else would have to say about me, so sure you can count me in!

  • Welp. Now that I'm newly single...why the heck not? Count me in if you still need a few volunteers lol. I'm curious to see how this plays out : )

  • @Ro_ad808 - @MethodOfMyMadness - @consignedhearts111 - @lanney - Oh you taken people :p I'd write you one if you weren't taken, but I don't want to encourage cheating now. Obviously my profiles would instantly create chaos as thousands of hotties would want to date you! jk

  • @SUMRdaisy - @beautywithin2851 - You two are only legitimate applicants, haha. To work I go :) May be asking you some questions soon.

  • @GreekPhysique - , I didn't ask for one because I'm taken- I asked because you said " I will design an online dating profile for the first five women who want one."  I wanted to see if on that fact alone I was disqualified.

  • Alright, ask away! I finally gave in to starting an account *L0L*
