Xanga Challenge: Your Teen TV Crushes (Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down)
Just for fun, here's a challenge for you. Write about two TV crushes you had as a teen: one that you're still proud of, one that you're not quite sure what you were thinking.
Thumbs Up: Miss Parker, The Pretender
Miss Parker was on the TV show The Pretender. I just remember enjoying the nuance of this character. I have a soft spot for tough women (inconsistency intentional). On the one hand, she's a scheming murderess who bullies her subordinates. But she's also presented as a real woman, who becomes fragile when family or love is involved. There's no heart of gold, but there is humanity. It was an honest portrayal of smart, intense womanity, and I appreciate it more over time. For a teen guy, watching an assertive yet fragile woman was an excellent education. Also, the obligatory HOT HOT HOT IF YOU LOOK LIKE HER MESSAGE ME KTHXBAI...Thumbs Down: Daniella Deutscher, Hang Time
I'm pretty sure my thought process went like this. "Duh she shoot hoops, I shoot hoops, what if we were playing basketball together we would have so much fun!" Extremely complex logic, let me tell you. She's cute, but my logic behind my crush was, shall we say, a little limited. I'm still an unabashed jersey chaser, though. Holla, balla!
That was cheerfully embarrassing. Who's next? I'll tag you on here if you write one. Oh and fyi, realize that these are photos of hot folk, so you may not want to open these in, say, a library. Because if you're like me, my browser instantly picks that time to freeze up, and then I awkwardly blurt out "I was doing research!" to passer-bys. Oops.

Interesting. I probably won't write a blog about it...but lets just say: The green ranger/white ranger. No shame. Dude does mma now...totally awesome!
I will consider proposed challenge..
Challenge completed.
@CryingInColor - Thanks! I tried to pick an easy one but was getting worried at lack of interest.
Mine are definitely embarrassing! Jonathan taylor thomas... yikes
I was head over heals for Uhura, the communications babe on the original Star Trek. And Mrs. Peel, the Avenger curled the hair of my chinny chin chin.
Lol. Mine aren't TV crushes but they were teen crushes nonetheless..
Oh, and I had to LOL at your ending comment. hahaha Definitely a "FML moment"..especially if it froze on my post..pwhaha :X
@Babieboo_Annie - It sort of did! :p I was thinking "Oh, that is a slightly shirtless photo, I should scroll by faster...and I did...right into the almost-naked photos! Blush. Thankfully office area is quiet today. It's all your fault, hee-hee.
@GreekPhysique - I know that 1% side of you thanked me for them photos..pwhaha ;P
I honestly never had any celebrity crushes. Never even remotely understood the concept.
Still don't understand the concept. How do people ignore that the characters are fiction and in the case of actual celebrities how they ignore that they only ever really know what the celeb wants to be public? Is it seriously just all about the looks of the character or celebrity? if so how do people develop a crush on someone based exclusively on looks and not even care about anything about the actual person?
I remember The Pretender, great show.
Nice to meet you
Thanks for the add
Proud of: high school years I had a big league crush on Anna Kournikova, and I'm not even into blondes really.
Not so proud of: the pink ranger from Power Rangers.
um, Danielle Fishel from Boy Meets World, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004918/
April O'neil (TMNT Cartoon 90's), http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mcfiw1g20g1qgctoq.gif
The only crush I ever had was Donny Osmond. Man that really dates me, doesn't it?
Proud of: Johnny Depp. I still blush when I see pictures of him to this day. Loved him in Edward Scissorhands.
Not so proud of: I've been thinking for about five minutes and I cannot recall one that I am not saying to myself "What was I thinking?"
